FOLIG would form smaller reading and friends of the library clubs in the various schools at primary, secondary and tertiary level. These clubs would operate subject to guidelines from FOLIG. From these clubs, we can get people to volunteer in activities of FOLIG. Also the club would induce the joy of reading for fun in its members as well as their various communities.
OVERVIEW
With a lot of effort and funds directed to support FOLIG, management of the club would in successive time interval evaluate the success of club in the attainment of its goals. In the short term, evaluation would be done by conducting surveys. With the help of our volunteers surveys would be conducted in places where our projects had been targeted. Surveys would enable management to know how the activities of FOLIG have influenced the reading habits of our target groups. Also management would analyzing Secondary Data to check effects of FOLIG. Success of FOLIG would be evaluated based on
- Success rate of pupils in their final examinations would be analyzed to know the after effects reading habits have on academics.
- Reduction in social vices would be a good indication that young adults are being transformed by the activities of FOLIG.
In the long term, success of FOLIG would be determined by the overall impacts of its activities on the country. We would expect
- Government’s attention drawn to developing libraries in Ghana
- Change in the education curriculum to encourage reading
